The Virginia Tech Cadets
Virginia Tech’s Corps of Cadets became a symbol of Virginia Tech during the national media coverage of the April 16 shootings after losing one of their own. “We’ve got a mission to do. In this business, loss is a fact of life. You don’t dwell on it.” said Col. Rock Roszak. Each year the Corp welcomes a new crop of cadets to campus. They spend the week before school starts immersed in a military boot camp of sorts: learning to march, the corps history and ultimately personal perseverance.
