The Ice Road - Bloomberg Businessweek

The Northwest Angle is a small US community bordered on all sides by Canada even though it is part of the US. It is located in northern Minnesota but is only accessible to US residents by driving through Canada first. With COVID closing the border, the resorts on the Angle had no way of having winter guests so they built their own ice road that bypassed Canada. I always love assignments that take me to remote settings and this one definitely fit the bill. It included a 27-mile drive across the ice road and an old logging road that hugged the US/Canada border.
