The New York Times sent me to a tiny northern Minnesota town to document the final edition of the community newspaper before it shuttered for good. What started as a simple daily assignment turned into a 16-page special section in the Sunday New York Times. This assignment reminded me of the power of storytelling at a hyper local level and it was incredible to see it turned into something so much bigger than the small town and myself could have imagined.
